In 2025 we reimagined our tennis courts to create a 20,000 sqft. recreational experience for all members and their guests. Come hangout in The Backyard! Read a book or just relax under a shady gazebo. Meet friends around the firepit on a cool early summer evening. Learn a new sport by joining our bocce league. Challenge a friend, new or old, to a game of table tennis or cornhole. The possibilities are endless in the ultimate backyard!

Phantom Lake Bocce League 2026
Looking for a fun, social way to spend your Sunday afternoons? Join the Phantom Lake Bocce League! This low-pressure, recreational league is all about friendly competition, community connection, and a great excuse to hang out at the club. Perfect for both beginners and seasoned players, bocce is one of the easiest (and most fun) ways to meet people—whether you're in it to win or just there for the laughs.

Details
Matches: Sundays at 4:00 PM
Format: Round-robin, social play
Championship: Final week of each session + potluck
Optional refresher: 3:30 PM on the first day of each session
Cost: $10 per person, per session (goes toward the winning team prize)
Ages: 18+
Teams:
Minimum of 4 players (no maximum roster)
At least 2 players required each week to play
Non-members are welcome, but each team must include at least one PLC member

🍂 Fall Session (Reg by August 21): August 23, August 30, September 13, September 20 (Championship)
Game Format (Quick Overview)
Matches are best of 3 games
Each game is played to 11 points (win by 2)
Games typically last 60–75 minutes
Teams rotate players if more than 2 are present
Substitutions allowed between games
How to Play (Basics)
Start with rock-paper-scissors to determine first throw
Winning team throws the pallino (small ball)
Teams alternate throwing bocce balls, trying to get closest to the pallino
All 8 balls are thrown each round
The team with the closest ball scores
Scoring:
Only one team scores per round
1 point for each ball closer than the opponent’s nearest ball
First team to 11 (win by 2) wins the game
League Rules & Notes
A ball out of bounds does not count
Matches may be played with 2–4 players
Substitutions allowed between games
Matches will still play in light weather
Rainouts will not be rescheduled
